I went out for a run Monday evening. It was early enough that there was still plenty of light when I left. But night falls pretty quickly in New England in the winter. By the time I was finishing up, the lights had all come on and the sun was almost completely set.
I took this picture as I was walking off the run. Something about the streetlight and the light it cast struck me. The streetlight was a weird amber color, while behind it the sky changed from light blue to deep blue behind the dark trees.
Composition in the picture is pretty unremarkable. What drew me was entirely the range of colors and shadows.
